The Overland Guide Association (OGA)

The OA is a professional body which promotes the competency of Off Road Guides for their work across the UK and Internationally.

Their training courses are focused on client care, safe and responsible riding, navigation and group management, with a HUGE input on practical First Aid. As a rider safety organisation, the OGA is leading the field in responsible training and their ranks are swelling year on year.

Ashley is a L2 Guide with FREC 3 First Aid experience, and assists on OGA events and training courses. He intends to expand his off road capabilities with the International Guide L3, and Frec 4 delivered by the OGA later this year

If you are keen on developing your off road guiding skills, with a variety of excellent learning opportunities, the OGA is a great organisation to get involved with. More information about the OGA here

Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF)

The TRF are one of the oldest and most established off road riding groups still active in the UK. They run a green lane map, which is becoming the definitive map of Bridleways Open to All Traffic (BOATS), Green lanes, and TROs - the Traffic Restriction Orders which have removed so many old and legacy byways across the UK.

Ashley is a TRF Member in Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales, and is regularly out pottering with friends in all seasons, helping to maintain the access and condition of the lanes that we have left.

If you are keen on developing your skills in a club environment, with a variety of social and learning opportunities, the TRF is a great organisation to get involved with. More information about the TRF here

Adventure Country Tracks (ACT)

The ACT are one of the newest off road challenges on the moto scene. Created by enthusiastic European riders, the ACT provides Responsible, Supportive and Epic challenges across the UK and Europe by country and region.

Each challenge can be completed independently of the others, collecting stickers and merchandise on completion - which every rider likes!

Ashley is an ACT Member, and looking forward to completing all the UK ACT in 2025/6.

Trans European Trail (TET)

The TET is the newest off road challenges on the moto scene. Created by enthusiastic UK and European riders, the TET has just recorded its 100,000km of off road trail mapping - an amazing achievement by the Volunteer “Linesmen and Women”. TET Trails are accessible throughout the UK, Europe and the Baltic States.

Their TET App allows mapping and problem reporting in real time, which is extremely valuable to off road trail riders.

Ashley supports the TET and abides by their Code of Conduct, and is looking forward to exploring more of the UK and European TET in the coming years. More information about the TET here
