Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)
The IAM run a fantastic Road Safety initiative called RoadSmart, which the IAM Advanced Motorcycle and Masters Motorcycle tests are part of.
Ashley is a Masters Rider, a member of the IAM, a member of his local IAM group, is an IAM Observer and an IAM Examiner in the Northwest. He also supports a number of IAM Clubs across the region.
If you are keen on developing your skills in a club environment, with a variety of social and learning opportunities, the IAM is a great organisation to get involved with.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA)
ROSPA run RoADAR, a fantastic Road Safety initiative, which the ROSPA Advanced Motorcycle test is part of.
Ashley is a ROSPA GOLD Award Holder, a member of ROSPA, a member of his local ROSPA group and is a ROSPA Advanced Tutor. He also supports a number of ROSPA activities across the region.

Bike Safe Subsidised Training
Riders who successfully attend a Bike Safe Course with Lancashire Constabulary (LanCon) in 2025, and then go on to complete further Advanced Training, can apply for a refund directly from LanCon for the full BikeSafe course fee.
This amounts to £84 in 2025, thus subsidising their further Advanced Training.
