Walshe Moto….
Taking a moment to reflect on how motorbiking, cycling, journeys and adventures have been such a big part of my life to date, and why Walshe Moto / Walshe Rider Training feels like the best thing to do right now ….
I’ve always been into bikes, not the mechanical side - I can break the unbreakable, but the buzz, the flow you get from riding out with friends, solo, as the lead or tail end charlie, and the camaraderie you get from grabbing a brew after an epic 200 miles into a side wind!
Bikes just make sense …. the planning of the journey, the execution of the best right hand bend or overtake, the challenge of understanding the way your bike works with the road, and the ability to teach and learn on the bike is not just about the ride, but the rider!
I hope my passion for improving people’s riding comes across in the ramblings of this blog, and that those of you that join me on our journey, will be better people, and riders because Walshe Moto!
Ride safe!

The Bike Safe Observed ride…. where progress begins!
If Carlsberg did observed rides….. Had my Bike Safe Trainer hat and hi viz an today, with one of 8 riders who took up the AMAZING offer from Bike Safe run by Lancashire Police…. if you live in Lancashire and complete the Bike Safe course, and get a full refund if you go onto an Advanced Rider Training! Win : Win !
Despite the mixed weather - Mediterranean temperatures followed by Icelandic sun, followed by tropical storms….. we circumnavigated Pendle Hill, with some twisty lanes over near Gisburn. The ride flowed more after a mid-ride debrief with some Top Tips, and we had HUGE SMILES when we got back to the finish.
For those riders that have not already invested in the World Class theory session about being safe on Lancashire’s roads, Biker First Aid delivered by an NW Ambulance Trainer, and the observed ride there are still places left on the remaining two sessions this year…. see www.bikesafe.co.uk
