by Guiding you in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

An old Irish saying….

May the road rise to meet you…

may the sun always be at your back..

and will you be having a pot of tea…??

Your Coach and Guide

Ashley is your Professional Coach and Guide, and has been out there adventuring worldwide for nearly 40 years.

His passion for teaching, learning and exploring on two wheels has brought him to set up WalsheMoto, where a lifetime of riding,

teaching, instructing has seen people develop their confidence and become safer, faster, stronger riders.

WalsheMoto brings a little Irish hospitality to tours and training, thanks to his late Mum, Pamela Walshe, who loved to pillion in Co Mayo, Ireland.

A brew stop really does make the world a better place, with tea, coffee and cake are never far away on our courses!

Riding Experience

Taking his full test late last century, his first big bike was a very nimble Kawasaki Z750S which proved an exceptional twin and gave a permanent grin around bends.

A little slower but far more entertaining was “Daisy” his BMW 650GS Dakar, which thumped its way around the lanes of the Yorkshire Dales, Wales and Europe for 15 years, including his first IAM Advanced Test.

Taking a Royal Enfield Himalayan along the Zanskar River in Ladakh India was a fantastic experience, as was a Honda C90 into Scottish headwinds, barely making headway!

Trials bikes are always fun, making the world slow down while the excitement grows, and regularly falling off a Honda CRF300L riding off road on the UK Trans European Trail (TET) makes you humble.

Testing a BMW850GSs and Mutt 250s around the Picos last May was a real hoot - more in our blog,

What’s in the stables ??

Currently in the stables are a Fantic 450 XEF for off road guiding adventures and his 3rd Triumph Tiger, one 800XR and two 900 Rally Pros, clocking up many more happy miles around the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Ashley has led expeditions on 5 continents, advanced rides and tours for clubs, groups and friends across the UK, Ireland and Europe, both on and off road.

He continues to support riders at Horizons Unlimited, The Lightweight Adventure Festival, Haggs Bank Bunkhouse, the Overland Guide Association, and is a regular at the ABR Festival.

Charity and voluntary work have always been important to us, and we continue to support local road safety groups, both IAM and ROSPA, Lancashire Police BikeSafe, Masonic Charities, the Iron Butt Association / Royal British Legion.

In 2022, Ashley completed lands End to John O’Groats solo and unsupported on his pushbike - he enjoyed that so much over 13 days, he went back and did it on his Tiger 800 over 4 days!

In 2023, Ashley and his son Callum as pillion covered 3,333 miles around the English Coastline in 100 biking hours, raising over £7,500 for the Veterans Foundation and MCF, Masonic Charities Foundation. More info in our Blog!

In 2025, Ashley has become the the Northwest Ambassador for MARK - Motorbike Acts of Random Kindness Charity, which run the very popular Bike and Brew Passport. You may well bump into him while he supports that challenge this year and next!

Charity begins on the bike
