DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS)

Ashley is a Registered DVSA ERS Scheme Trainer, can deliver all the DVSA modules, and can assess students’ competence as they develop. The ERS Scheme is ideal for inexperienced riders, or those returning to biking after a long break, and leads into Advanced riding of all types and standards.

The ERS coaching is based on 7 core DVSA Modules;

  • structured planned approach to riding

  • defensive riding and hazard awareness

  • progress and use of speed

  • overtaking and filtering

  • bends and corners

  • slow control

  • developing the correct rider attitude

Once the 7 core modules are successfully completed, a DVSA Certificate of Completion is issued to the Student, who can then access 12 further modules

How long will the ERS training take?

Approximately 14 hours to complete the 7 core Modules, although this will vary between students based on their prior experience and riding technique. ie;

1 x 2 hour benchmarking and planning ride

3 x 4 hour sessions based upon your individual action plan.

More time is required for additional modules.

Bike Safe Subsidised Training

Riders who successfully attend a Bike Safe Course with Lancashire Constabulary (LanCon) in 2025, and then go on to complete further Advanced Training, can apply for a refund directly from LanCon for the full BikeSafe course fee.

This amounts to £84 in 2025, thus subsidising their further Advanced Training.

Spaces are still available on 2025 courses - click the Bikesafe Logo for further dates and details.

All Advanced Training offered by WalsheMoto counts for this subsidy - please mention your BikeSafe experience when discussing your plans!
